Aura: Game-Changing AI Assistant for Unreal Engine 5

Aura lets you build games and interactive 3D apps using natural language. Create levels, lighting, and even enemy AI — no coding required.

Here's a hard truth: A 3D render of a shoe is worth $100. An interactive 3D app where the client can rotate, change colors, and inspect that same shoe is worth $1,500. The only thing standing between most artists and that higher rate is "Code". And as of this week, that barrier is gone.

The News: Aura for Unreal Engine (Released Jan 2, 2026)

On January 2nd, Ramen VR released Aura, an AI coding assistant built specifically for Unreal Engine. Unlike ChatGPT, which guesses code, Aura lives inside the engine. It sees the viewport, identifies assets, and executes commands directly.

Step 1: Click the 'A' icon in the toolbar. It lives natively inside UE5.

Step 2: Log in to connect the Agent to the LLM backend.

Workflow 1: Creating a Full FPS Game in Minutes

Creating a First Person Shooter (FPS) level usually requires manual placement of every wall and floor. With Aura, this process is automated via natural language.

Critical: Switch the mode from "Ask" to Agent. "Ask" explains concepts, but "Agent" actually creates and edits assets.

The Secret Sauce: Switch to 'Agent' mode to let the AI create assets.

Complex structures can be generated with a single detailed prompt. For example:

"Layout an FPS warehouse building using primitive shapes only... 2 stories tall... stairs to the 2nd floor... add obstacles to duck and hide."

Typing the FPS warehouse prompt into Aura
The Prompt: Asking for a complex 2-story structure with gameplay elements.

Aura calculates the geometry, builds walls, leaves gaps for doors, and constructs functional staircases that the player can walk up. This results in a playable "Greybox" level generated in seconds.

The Result: A fully walkable 2-story environment created from text.

Atmosphere is handled similarly. Instead of manually placing light actors, users can simply ask Aura to light the scene. It places ceiling lights at logical intervals and bakes the shadows automatically.

Instant Atmosphere: Aura placed and configured the lighting automatically.

Finally, game logic is applied. By asking to "Add enemies that follow me", Aura spawns a creature and writes the AI Controller script. It generates a navigation path for the enemy to chase the player, effectively coding the gameplay mechanics without human intervention.

💰 Workflow 2: The Money Maker (Interactive Products)

While making games is engaging, the significant commercial value for freelancers lies in Interactive Product Configurators.

Consider a client selling a luxury watch. Instead of delivering a static video, a freelancer can import the watch model and instruct Aura:

"Create a UI with a button that says Gold. When clicked, change the watch material to Gold."

Aura writes the Blueprint logic, connects the UI to the Mesh, and creates the "OnClicked" event. This can be exported as an executable file or a web link.

This shift transforms the service from "Asset Creation" to "Software Development," drastically increasing the project's market value — from $100 renders to $1,500+ interactive apps.

🎟️ Exclusive Access: Skip the Waitlist

Normally, Aura is in Closed Beta and requires a long wait time. However, I've secured a direct invitation link. This link contains an active invite code, but it likely has a user limit. If you're reading this early, you might be able to bypass the queue immediately.
